Janet Bourne
Assistant Professor of Music Theory at UCSB. Her publications appear in Music Theory Online, Frontiers in Neuroscience, Music in the Social and Behavioral Studies: An Encyclopedia, and Norton Guide to Teaching Music Theory. Dr. Bourne received a PhD in music theory and cognition from Northwestern University.

Tim Bausch
Tim is a fourth year Ph.D. student
in the music theory department.
His research centers around the perception of sound, focusing on spectral music and music information retrieval. Through his research, he has developed knowledge in MATLAB and Python, and has programmed multiple interactive behavioral experiments for the music cognition lab.
